According to radio station 93.9 WKYS, formerly unsigned rapper Wale has signed a joint venture deal with Interscope Records and ward winning producer Mark Ronson.
Twenty three year old Wale has had a large amount of success being an unsigned rapper over the past year, doing remixes, being on magazine covers, the Nike Boots songs, and mixtapes.
Previously, Wale had a production deal with Mark Ronson, who has produced for artists like Ghostface Killah, Saigon, Rhymefest, and more. The deal with Interscope was preceded by a six-month bidding war, with Interscope eventually winning because they understood Wale's artistic vision more clearly than everyone else.
Wale states that he is impressed by their track record, naming artists like Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Pharrell, and more.
According to sources, Mark Ronson will executive produce Wale's debut album which is untitled as of now.
